Palace Road Estate has been selected to be part of London Mural Festival and we want your feedback on the plans.
Lambeth Council is working with an organisation called Global Street Art to install artistic murals across the borough. This work is part of the London Mural Festival 2024.
Palace Road Estate has been selected as a location for murals to be painted by Global Street Art. Residents are invited to share comments or suggested locations for the artwork by Wednesday 24th April. PRERA will be sharing comments with Lambeth on the plans. Please share your thoughts on the proposal with us so we can represent your views by emailing contact@prera.org.uk
Information provided about the scheme includes:
- The murals will not cost residents or Lambeth anything – they are funded by Global Street Art
- No political or offensive artiwork or messaging will be installed, and there will be no inclusion of any branding.
- If residents are not happy with what is produced, Lambeth will ensure it is replaced with something more suitable.
- Murals have been shown to deter grafitti and tagging, as well as other behaviours like fly-tipping and littering.
- You can find out more about Global Street Art on their website.
The areas suggested by Lambeth for murals are shown in the photos below, but residents are encouraged to suggest other ideas for where they could be painted as well.
